Privacy Policy

The Service is operated from the United States and is intended for users located in the United States. By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have reviewed this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who we are
SafetyNet.pet is a pet-safety service. Pet owners (“Owners”) build care plans for their pets, configure automated SMS check-ins (“SafetyChecks”), and designate trusted contacts (“SafetySitters”). If an Owner misses their check-ins – or activates manually – the Service alerts that Owner’s SafetySitters by SMS and email so someone can act on the pet’s behalf.

The information we collect
Information you provide
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, and time zone. We also store which subscription plan you are on (Free, Essential, or Complete).
Pet and care information (SafetyPlan): Information you enter about your pets –
which may include feeding routines, medications, behavioral notes, veterinarian details, and similar care instructions.
SafetySitter contact information: If you designate a SafetySitter, you provide only that person’s email address so they can connect their account with yours. We do not collect SafetySitter phone numbers from Owners; a SafetySitter’s phone number, if any, comes only from that person’s own account registration. See Section 6.
Payment information: Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Card and bank details are collected and processed directly by Stripe; we do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We retain a processor-assigned customer/subscription identifier and limited billing metadata (plan, billing cycle, status).
Communications: Messages you send us (support requests, inbound SMS keywords such as STOP or activation keywords) and our responses.
Information collected automatically
Usage and device data: When you use the Service we and our processors may collect IP address, browser/device type, and log data about your interactions. Error and diagnostic data. We use a third-party error-monitoring service to capture application errors. Error reports may include technical context such as IP address and the state of the request that failed.
Cookies: The Service uses cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the portal and keep you signed in.
How we use your information
We use information to:
create and manage your account and authenticate you; deliver the core Service – send scheduled SafetyCheck SMS to Owners, detect missed checks, and alert the relevant SafetySitters by SMS and email; store and display SafetyPlans and share them with your connected SafetySitters when you enable sharing, when your SafetyNet activates, or as otherwise configured by you in the Service; process subscriptions, billing, and renewals through our payment processor; send transactional email (account, billing, and alert notifications); provide support and respond to your requests; monitor, debug, secure, and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations.
SMS / text message program
Consent: We send service text messages only to numbers that have expressly opted in by checking the SMS opt-in boxes. We do not treat the act of providing a phone number, by itself, as consent to receive texts. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on the schedules you configure and on alert activity.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to cancel. Reply HELP for help. After you send STOP, we will send one confirmation message and then stop sending service texts to that number. Withdrawing SMS consent will limit parts of the Service: SafetyChecks are delivered by SMS and cannot be performed for a number that has opted out, and a SafetySitter who opts out will not receive SMS alerts (Automated SMS is off by default).
No sharing of SMS consent: We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers, or the consent to receive text messages, with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent are shared only with the service providers that deliver messages on our behalf.
Marketing Communications
If you opt in to marketing emails, we may send promotional or educational messages about SafetyNet.pet. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Transactional, billing, account, safety, and alert-related emails may still be sent as necessary to provide the Service.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, trade, transfer, or share email or SMS opt-in data, mobile numbers, or text messaging consent with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information to service providers that help us operate SafetyNet.pet and deliver our messaging services, but only as necessary for them to provide services to us and not for their own marketing or promotional use. Contact us for a list of the service providers we use to operate SafetyNet.pet.
Legal and safety: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
Business transfers: If Guardianimals is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
SafetySitter information
When an Owner designates a SafetySitter, the Owner provides only that person’s email address. We do not collect SafetySitter phone numbers from Owners. We do not send invitational messages to new SafetySitters on behalf of Owners. Instead, we provide Owners with draft invitations to send to their SafetySitters themselves, so the first contact comes from someone the SafetySitter knows. If you are an Owner, you are responsible for having the SafetySitter’s permission before adding their email address.
Once a SafetySitter is connected to an Owner, we send that SafetySitter operational alert emails – and, where the SafetySitter has their own account and has enabled SMS alerts, alert text messages – when that Owner’s SafetyNet activates. If you are a SafetySitter and want your information removed, contact us using the contact information at the end of this policy, or reply STOP to alert texts to stop SMS. Removing your information may prevent you from receiving alerts for the Owner(s) who designated you.
Data retention
Your SafetyNet data is retained while your account is active.
Account and subscription records are retained while your account is active and for a limited period after closure for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes. SMS, email, workflow, support, and diagnostic logs may be retained for shorter operational periods unless needed for security, legal, or dispute purposes. You may request deletion, but some records may be retained where legally required or necessary to complete transactions, maintain security, prevent abuse, or resolve disputes.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricted use of API credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your U.S. privacy rights
Many U.S. states have comprehensive privacy laws. Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
to confirm whether we process it, and to access it;
to correct inaccuracies;
to request deletion;
to obtain a portable copy of it;
to opt out of any sale, targeted advertising, or certain automated profiling; and
to appeal a denial of a privacy request.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We will verify your request using information associated with your account before acting on it, and will respond within the time required by your state’s law. You may authorize an agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification. The specific rights, deadlines, and procedures available to you vary by state.
California residents: Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the rights listed above, including the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children and is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We do not intentionally market or offer the Service to individuals located outside the United States. If we later expand availability outside the United States, we will update this Policy and our practices as needed.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
